To provide a quality academic education and a spiritual foundation in Jesus Christ to the poor and underprivileged children of Amagoro, Kenya.
About Us
Amagoro Charitable Fund Incorporated (Amagoro CFI) was founded in April 2006 to help meet the needs of poor and orphaned children in Amagoro, Kenya. Amagoro CFI’s founder, Richard Gifaldi, met the Director of Amagoro Junior Academy, Dr. Zakayo Iteba Epusi (Dr. Zak), while Dr. Zak was working on his PhD in the United States in 2003. Dr. Zak and Richard continued their relationship even after Dr. Zak completed his degree and returned to Kenya.
In the fall of 2005, Dr. Zak contacted Richard and asked him to send some money to help feed the children at Amagoro Junior Academy. The academy was out of money and they had started rationing their food. Richard gathered some money from friends and family and started Amagoro CFI in hopes that a constant source of income would be provided to the Amagoro Junior Academy.
Amagoro Charitable Fund Incorporated was established in April 2006 and is an IRS recognized 501-C3 corporation. In its first eight months of operation, 16% of the academy's annual financial needs were raised. In 2007, 21% of the academy's budget was provided by Amagoro CFI. All of the donations received by Amagoro CFI go directly to Amagoro Junior Academy with the exception of bank fees, state filing fees, and statutory representation fees.
How to Get Involved
There are many ways that you can help Amagoro Charitable Fund Incorporated serve the children of Amagoro, Kenya. Foremost, Amagoro Junior Academy expresses their gratitude for your ongoing prayer and encouragement. Second, your one time or periodic financial contribution would help keep the academy operating and the children fed. Third, those of you with a calling to teach poor and orphaned Kenyan children are needed for short-term and long-term positions. Also, those with a background in construction are welcome to participate in the construction of facilities or to provide technical advice. If there is any other way that you would like to contribute, we welcome your help.
